It's not a heavy gel toner, it's relatively water. I don't know if it would work greatt if used alone as it just seems like water but in combination with other products it works well. Also, since I started using the line (all 3 items) over a month a go my breakouts have cleared , my skin smoothened and has become really soft. I know it whitens a bit but I'm still waiting to see if it work on spots. Also, it may be best to use the whole line for best results and it wonderful for WOC -don't worry, it wont bleach your skin
